Half a century ago there was a little movie theater in just about every neighborhood in America. Today, almost all of those theaters are gone. Indywood's mission is to bring cinema back to the neighborhood. We're testing new ideas about how we might do that. In this talk we will explain how the current system for distributing films is dreadfully antiquated and inefficient, and we will introduce plans for developing an online theatrical distribution portal (like netflix, but for theaters) that could radically innovate how films are distributed. In five years, we predict micro cinemas like Indywood will be opening up in theaters everywhere, screening dynamic content that has been distributed to them with the liquid powers of the internet.
